Web Dialer FAQ & Architecture

Everything You Need to Know About In-Browser Web Dialers

How WebRTC and modern browser technology replace outdated desk phones and clunky softphones.

What is a Web Dialer?

A Web Dialer is an in-browser phone application utilizing WebRTC (Web Real-Time Communication) to place and receive phone calls over the internet directly from a web browser window. It turns any laptop, tablet, or PC with Chrome, Safari, or Edge into a fully functioning business phone system without installing third-party executable software or browser extensions.

How does an in-browser Web Dialer work?

Dialxa establishes encrypted SRTP/DTLS audio streams between your browser and carrier SIP gateways. Audio is encoded with Opus at 48kHz for high-definition clarity. Signaling is handled via secure WebSockets (WSS), achieving sub-25ms internal processing latency.

Why choose a Web Dialer over a desktop softphone?

Traditional softphones consume 300MB–1GB of RAM, require admin rights for IT installation, and struggle with multi-device updates. An in-browser web dialer is zero-install, loads in milliseconds, updates automatically, and can be installed as a progressive web app (PWA) onto your desktop dock.

Can I integrate the Web Dialer with my CRM or TMS?

Yes. Dialxa offers native click-to-dial APIs, browser event dispatchers, and webhooks. Sales and logistics agents can trigger phone calls with a single click inside HubSpot, Salesforce, Pipedrive, or custom TMS freight management systems.

Ready for a Modern Softphone Without the Bloat?

Launch Dialxa directly in your browser or install it as a lightweight PWA onto your taskbar. No complicated rollouts — just pure, sub-50ms WebRTC voice.
